Weather Forecast Live is a real-time, location-centered weather forecast data explorer powered by the Visual Crossing Timeline Weather API and Weather Maps API.

It brings together current conditions, short-range precipitation forecasts, multi-day outlooks, recent weather history, charts, and interactive weather maps in a single visual dashboard.

For each selected location, Weather Forecast Live retrieves weather data for the exact requested coordinates. Current conditions, forecasts, and recent observations are returned through the same Timeline API, while map overlays use standard weather-map tiles that update as users pan, zoom, and switch layers.

The experience is designed to answer both “what is happening now?” and “what is coming next?” Users can check current conditions, see when rain may begin or end, explore the days ahead, compare recent weather, and view changing conditions on the map.

Preview vs. signed-in behavior

  1. Preview mode works without an account and uses a rate-limited preview route with a shorter data window and some reduced detail.
  2. Signed-in mode uses the authenticated Timeline Weather API and provides longer forecast and history ranges, complete available fields, and higher usage limits.
  3. Signed-in users can also choose the Timeline LLX Weather API for applications requiring very low response times.
  4. Creating a Visual Crossing account is free.

Displayed data includes

  2. A short rain summary highlighting imminent precipitation.
  3. Minute-by-minute precipitation timing and intensity when available.
  4. Multi-day forecasts with expandable hourly details.
  5. Recent observed weather for comparison with current and forecast conditions.
  6. Charts showing trends in temperature, precipitation, wind, humidity, cloud cover, and other variables.
  7. Interactive precipitation, temperature, wind, cloud-cover, and pressure map layers, with severe-weather alerts where available.
